The purpose of the Project is to investigate the transport properties of novel Li-based complex hydrides with respect to their applicability as solid electrolytes and high performance hydrogen storage media. Therefore, special attention will be given to the Li diffusivity and the influence of the crystalline structure and the influence of the mobility of the complex anion on the ion conductivity. Lithium based lightweight materials are the subject of current discussion in the scientific community in view of applications in hydrogen storage, fuel cells and solid state electrolysis. Therefore, understanding the underlying transport properties within these materials will have a great impact towards their potential applications.
